Ecstatic Dance Workshop w/ Jeweled Lotus of Ecstatic Dance SOMD

Jeweled Lotus has been practicing qi gong and tai chi for 15 years. For our warm-up he will guiding us in an immersive Qi Gong exercise to balance our fundamental elements, water, wood, fire, earth, and metal. Qi Gong is an ancient form of energy cultivation that provides healing and balance to help us gracefully move through life. With that energy cultivation and balance we come to the dance more embodied and present, ready to cultivate and exchange that energy with those we are dancing with in the sacred movement medicine that is Ecstatic Dance.

Jeweled Lotus provides meditative and movement-oriented sound journeys blending elements of his Native American Flute playing with spiritual dance music created by himself and others. Being the resident DJ and founder of Ecstatic Dance Southern Maryland, Jeweled Lotus is adept at providing high-vibrational music that brings in the energies of ecstatic and spiritual movement.

An avid ecstatic dancer himself, Jeweled Lotus offers a range of sound from slow and shamanic, grooving and sacral, and meditative and awakening. Jeweled Lotus has been a long-time meditator, healer, and musician. He creates mystical music in his home studio and has a steady healing practice as a holistic psychotherapist providing trauma treatment, talk therapy, and past-life regression.
